There have been quite a few questions about my trip and if I’m still going or if the trip has been cancelled. The answer is yes, I’m still going and no it has not been cancelled. But not everything is the same so allow me to update you on the changes that have happened.
The first and biggest news is that China is no longer on my route. I’m going to Taiwan instead. Which is cool because some of my favorite shows are Taiwanese. I started learning a little bit of Chinese and I discovered that it won’t be wasted. They speak Chinese in Taiwan but it’ll be the equivalent of someone speaking British English instead of American English. I only know a couple phrases so far but the most important one of all I have practiced meticulously. “No, I don’t speak Chinese”. You thought I was going to say something else didn’t you? I also need you to know that China was not removed from our route because of the virus but for other security concerns. If we removed every country that has/had the virus the trip would have to be cancelled!
The second update is that they have moved up the date for my training camp. Yes, you heard correctly, they moved it up. There were four routes set to leave in August and the people at AIM decided to move their launch dates back so in order to keep from exhausting their staff with two training camps back to back and no time to recover they have decide we should all do it together and so our training camp was moved up a couple of weeks to October 2nd. This doesn’t change anything when it comes to fundraising though. My deadlines are still the same. The first one being in July. If you have any other questions about my trip feel free to click on the “contact” link on the left side of the screen and shoot me a message or leave a comment on this post.
Pray for my team and I as we navigate these strange times. We are praying for you as well.
