A quick mini debrief in Bucharesti and a change of teams before we hop on a plane for South Africa!

Dear God was the first team to officially arrive for M.D. so we settled into our room at the hostel and went out for one last dinner together. The dinner was alright but the company was wonderful. We talked about our favorite moments as a team and went over some of the hard things we had worked through as well. From having so many restrictions on the girls in Albania and dealing with covid there, to Jose leaving, and Joey leaving. It felt like a new team every month as we lost people and the team dynamic changed. By the end we were definitely all just one big group of siblings messing with each other and having that family feel was what we all needed in that time I think.

Now it’s time to reveal the new team. First I’ll explain our team name. Like our first team assignments we played a game where you had to match up the slips of paper to find your team. Our team all had things that made a big impact. TNT, dynamite, etc. So we decided our name needed to have impact and the loud boom of thunder that comes after lightning can certainly impact your heart and even make it skip a beat and aren’t we as Christians all about impacting peoples’ hearts?

On to the team:

Samantha

Yes she’s still here and this time she’s my team leader. Always conscious of how she speaks to others, I have no doubt she will lead our team with kindness and wisdom all while her fingers fly over the keys of a piano.

Kaley

Finally! I wanted to be on a team with her since Nicaragua and now I finally have her with me. She always has words of encouragement to share with everyone around her and a smile on her face. I’ve gotta stay photo ready because you never know when she’ll pull out her camera.

Makalah

A whole lot of sass and fun in a small package. Makaylah is the atmosphere of the room she enters. She is bold and can bring up anyone that’s feeling down with just a smile. Keep an eye out for photos taken by her showing up in my blogs.

Lindsey

She’s back! How cool is it that I get to end my trip with the same person I started it with? The sweetest most outgoing girl I think I’ve ever had the privilege to call my friend. We’ll see how often I find myself on camera these last few months.

Jessie

The shy guitarist and drummer will dance her way straight into your heart. She’s always got an opinion even if her opinion is not having one. She’s always up for a pun as well and I can’t wait to unload all my favorites on her while she sneaks photos of the people around her.

Aliseya

Our resident genius and guitarist. She is a prayer warrior and intercessor naturally and there are never enough of those types of people around. With her quiet demeanor and uplifting words I’m more than excited to get to know her and learn all that I can from her.

SQL: Katherine

She was with Dear God in Craiova but with it being all squad month it never truly felt like she was part of the team so I’m super excited to have her to myself this month! With a heart for the people around her she sees people well and is always ready with a word of encouragement.

So this time around I’m the team treasurer! That means I handle paying for transportation, lodging and meals. This is an easy month for me to start with because our host sent us a link and I can just pay it all online! Pray I don’t mess it up somehow!

A few fun facts about our team: 4/5 cameras are on this team, 4/4 storytelling interns through AIM are on this team, 2/3 logistic team members are on this team (normally they would always be spread out), and we have enough musical talent to start our own band. Feel free to go check out and follow my team members’ blogs. With all of us together you can expect full coverage on the goings on through the coming months!
